Workshops 

Trinity Art Studios provides a naturally well lit and fully equipped riverside studio’s in London's Docklands.  We provide working space for full and part-time artists and sell original fine art through our exhibitions and gallery shows. We also host workshops; the perfect way to spend time expressing your creativity and socializing with like-minded people. Workshops include life drawing, water colour, ceramics and sculpture.

Ceramics on the Wheel

This beginner’s private lesson is the perfect way to learn a new skill and create your own hand-made ceramic pots.
During the lesson you will experience what it’s like to create pots on the potter’s wheel. Kicking off with a demonstration, you will watch Amanda in action.
Then it’s your turn; Amanda will tailor the lesson to your needs depending on your experience and capabilities. Explaining each stage, Amanda will help you create two pots and experience different techniques on the wheel. Towards the end, there will be time to explore and practice what you’ve learnt.
Your pots will be bisque fired and ready for collection after two weeks.
If you wish, you can share the experience by bringing a friend for free. (Time on the wheel will be shared equally and you create one pot each).

  • Ideal for: Anyone and everyone. Person’s under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult

  • Optional: For an additional £5, you can glaze (colour) your two pots by returning to the studio for a second time (pay now or on the day)

Ceramic Socials

The perfect session to spend time expressing your creativity and socializing with like-minded people. Come as a group or an individual, everyone is welcome.
To begin the session, Amanda will share her ceramic knowledge and skills, including a variety of examples. Amanda will inspire you to put these skills into practice as you explore and experiment with clay through group interaction, before creating an object of your choice.
If you have always wanted to create a pot, cup, sculpture or are curious to experience what clay feels like, this is the session for you. Your piece will be bisque fired and ready for collection after two weeks.
Amanda will tailor the session to your needs. Ceramic techniques will vary each week with a mixture of hand-building, mould-making, throwing on the wheel, casting and surface decoration. Feel free to bring your own drinks / snacks, this is a social after all.

body casting

Body casts are considered the perfect way to capture a memory, through the folds of your skin, your body can tell a story. In this body casting session, you can tell your story by creating an exact replica of your hand.
If you are creative and enjoy being hands on, this is a great session for you. Come as a couple, group or an individual, everyone is welcome.
To begin the session, Amanda will share her knowledge and skills, including a variety of examples. After testing the materials, you will create a mould of your hand. If you come as a couple/group it is possible to join hands.
Following Amanda’s instruction, you will cast your mould in plaster creating an exact replica of your hand.
Although your piece will take up to two weeks to fully dry, it can be taken away with you there and then to enjoy.

  • Ideal for: Anyone and everyone. Person’s under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult

  • Includes: Three hours of sculpture with up to three other like-minded people and sculptor Amanda Cotton. Plus, one plaster cast of your hand & all equipment needed for the session

  • Casting Material: Used by medical professionals across the globe, this is perfectly safe. Unfortunately, it cannot be used with broken or irritated skin. A skin test will be done before we begin casting. For questions around sensitivity please contact us directly before booking

  • Class size: Up to four people

  • Price: £25pp

All workshops are located at Trinity Buoy Wharf, 4 Orchard Place, London, E14 0JY accessible by East India and Canning Town DLR. There is parking on site; if you speak with security at the gate they can issue you a permit. If you arrive after 7pm, the gate to Trinity Buoy Wharf may be closed. If this is the case, please contact Amanda directly. Once on site you can find Amanda in the Sculpture Studio within the old Boiler House (opposite The Parkour Academy).
